New Hotel in Sukhumvit : Sib Kao

A very contemporary hotel

It seems that everyone's current travel destination is Bangkok. The fact that I was able to meet not one but a few friends in Bangkok at the time I was there is amazing, it somewhat suddenly felt like home. Lol. Anyways, I wanna share with you this New Hotel at Sukhumvit Soi 19 which we stayed for 2 night at in Bangkok Thailand, in September 2022.

"The word Sib Kao is more than just a name. It is two distinct words in Thai, each of which captures who we are as a hotel. Firstly, Sib Kao means Ten Steps. Why ten steps? Because by staying at Sib Kao Hotel, you’ll be ten steps from all that Bangkok has to offer. Secondly, Sib Kao means the number 19 and Sib Kao Hotel just so happens to be located in Sukhumvit Soi 19"

When it says 10 steps from all Bangkok has to offer, its true...well maybe not ten steps but 5 mins walk away! This hotel's location is just perfect because its just 5 mins to Terminal 21 and Asoke BTS and 10 mins to the Sukhumvit MRT. On the street itself there is two 7-11, one on the right and one on the left. This trip we didn't take ride on Tuk Tuk at all, partly due to the high price if compared to other means of transportation, instead we took the MRT, BTS and took a ride on the Motorbike-cab, which was an experience. The BTS & MRT System isn't all that hard to understand once you get the hang of it. We even manage to go to Joods fair which is 2 stops away. We walked 45 mins on our first day just to visit Jodd's Fair, but that was befroe we got familiarized with the MRT System. Well, let's leave that for another post. Ah yes, Soi Cowboy is just 1 street across so you are practically in the heart of it all.

So Sib Kao hotel was home to us for 2 days, and I must say that this place has one of the comfiest bed I've slept in. The room may look small but its so well furnished that there is so many hidden spaces especially for our luggage storage and that amazed me. The toilet is very spacious though if compared to some other hotels I've stayed in but the best part was the strong water pressure. I get really annoyed when I come back to the room after a long day and have to deal with weak water pressure. All the necessary amenities is provided too!

Sib Kao is a very basic hotel, but they sure do have a nice rooftop balcony with a great city view. There is also Jai Spa on the ground floor where you could get your Thai Massages done and guest gets a 10% discount too!

Our Experience at Metadee Resort & Villas, Phuket Thailand

It feels great to finally be able to explore the world again, as restrictions are slowly lifted and the world is coming to normalcy we took our very first flight out after 2 years. We choose Phuket Island, Thailand as our destination and believe me when I say this, it felt so good to fly out of Malaysia. It was definitely what I needed after a 2 year long lock-down.

We arrived a little past noon a Phuket, and immediately check-in to Metadee Resort & Villas, which is located 45 mins from the Airport, and 5 mins away to Kata Beach. I have never stayed at this area before so it was very refreshing, all previous trips I stayed around Patong Beach area which was much busier but busy is something I didn't need this trip. Metadee Resort & Villa has many types of rooms to choose from and each and everyone is carefully decorated to provide you a 'home away from home'. Pick from the Deluxe Double Room with Pool Access, One-Bedroom Villa with Private Pool, Deluxe Double Room with Pool View, One-Bedroom Villa with Pool Access, Three-Bedroom Villa with Private Pool, and Villa with Private Pool. The hotel has fitness facilities, spa services, and a poolside bar too. Its nice that all the rooms are equipped with canopy beds and bathtubs. Another thing which I want to highlight is the 24-hour front desk, if you have had bad experience with AirBNB's or hotels without it then you'd know how important a 24-hour front desk is. Internet access is available in all areas free of charge too.

We checked into our Private Villa with Pool and I immediately fell in love with the place. Metadee Resort And Villas is a 4-star hotel located amidst a spectacular landscaped pool. The one thing I love about Metadee is the rooms, they are spacious and luxurious. The canopy bed made me feel like a princess. The moment I walked into the Private Villa, I was amazed at how huge the place was! The room was about 120m² which is equivalent to 1291.67sqft. That is bigger than my house in the island. Lol.

There was 2 king sized beds, too bad we didn't bring the kids this time around so one of the beds became my cozy reading corner. Our Villa was incredibly huge even with a plunge pool, there was still so much space around. It was so refreshing to wake up to the view of the plunge pool. Rooms also comes with a Coffee Machine that makes really good coffee! Our room came with daily breakfast and the spread was good, with local & western dishes like pastries, bread and cereal.

Metadee Resort And Villas Phuket features exceptional restaurants and bars offering delightful culinary experiences throughout the day and the ideal settings for the night. The hotel maintains a restaurant named Himmaphan, meaning cashew nut in Thai. It serves a full combination of Asian and European cuisines and gives a perfect dish with fresh local ingredients. I had the Keng Som upon arrival and it was so good, spicy but good. I forgot what hubs had but I'm sure it was good. Lol. We had our dinner here too on our last night, a Thai set dinner which is great too. The hotel also maintains a chill out bar by the pool serving freshly squeezed juices and cocktails.

Alright now, the rooms price starts from THB1,399 for the Deluxe Pool view which has an amazing view but without the direct pool access. You can upgrade to the Deluxe Pool Access too which is only THB1,699. Our private villa is a THB 4,699 per night which I personally find worth while especially if you like privacy like myself. Going around Phuket was really easy too because we rented a Motorbike at just THB200 per day which is just outside Metadee Resort And Villas Phuket and made our way to Phuket Town and of course to see the hustle and bustle at Patong Beach. It was a great experience for us too. There were very much less tourist around which is great for me, as it gives me a chance to explore the island without having to rubs shoulders. We rode down to Karon beach which is just a 10 mins ride or 25 mins walk if you wish.

Ok, let's get to the SKINTIFIC Mugwort Anti Pore & Acne Clay Mask! This was specifically formulated to treat acne & breakouts which I still face on and off, but what I really hope to achieve with this is minimize pores. As age catches up, somehow the pores around my nose area have become larger and it's an eyesore especially for me because I am one who actually has a fixed skincare regime and is pretty diligent if I may say so myself. I exfoliate weekly, I ensure that I clean my pores and I use facemasks diligently. I wonder what's missing.
