Keep your kids occupied with Atom & The Dot

I’m always looking for activities for the kids to keep them occupied while I'm busy on My laptop or phone, the TV is not always the solution as they do still come and bother me So I was rather excited when I found out about Atom & The Dot. Atom & The Dot brings subscription boxes for kids age 5 to 8 years. Each box is filled with materials and instructions for Arts and Science inspired activities

Heiley was so excited when receiving her box as it was addressed to her so I didn't open the box prior to her. We received the box on a weekday which was also study week for her as her exams were coming up so I told her we will open it on Saturday evening the weekend before her exams. Kids needs a break too! When Saturday evening came, she was already asking and I allowed her to open it only after her brother sleeps, as expected the moment the brother falls asleep she's rushing down the stairs with the box in her hand and a happy face. The box she had was ‘ The Fickle Little Droplet’

Stay Warm in the Pool with Cheekaboo!

All kids loves water play, and baby Vegas is no
different but I'm always worried about letting him
play in water for too long because he always
catches a cold after. Last weekend, we were invited to Escape Theme Park, Penang. The Theme Park consist of a a Water play and Adventure Play. I'm very sure the children are going to enjoy their day they but I started to get worried about Baby Vegas catching a cold. I was thrilled when Cheekaaboo sent over a thermal swimwear for Baby Vegas. I had been searching for thermal swimwear for white sometime as I've heard that these swimwear helps keep babies warm in water.

Which is the most amazing relationship in the world? Take the Prudential Relationship Test to find out...

It's a new year and if you’ve been following my blog, you should know that I seldom talk about relationship. Since its a new year and all, for today I would like to talk about relationship. A very special relationship, unlike any other. No, I am not talking about the relationship between me and hubs. Let’s leave that for another time. No, it's not my parents or siblings. What inspired me to write this story? Well, I came across a study that was done by Prudential which is the Prudential Relationship Index for Malaysia (PRI).  In 2017, Malaysia scored 68/100 which is 3 points lower than 2016. Which country has the highest PRI ranking? Its Cambodia, at 86/100 while China has the lowest PRI ranking at 54/100. So what is this PRI all about? How is it measured? How do we make them stronger, better and more rewarding? The 2017 Prudential Relationship Index represents how well individuals’ existing relationships measure up to their needs and expectations. In Malaysia, 516 interviews were conducted through online sampling with residents of Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya. Respondents have household incomes of at least RM4,000 per month, representing approximately the top two-thirds of household incomes in the surveyed cities. The margin of error for the study is within +/- 4.3%

Book a room with a car at Tropics 8, Penang.

Book a room with a car, no not breakfast but a car. Yes the car come with the room vice versa. Yes. Alright the school holidays are here, well they’ve been here for more than a week actually. Lol. I’m always a little more stressed up on weekends and school holidays as I have more to juggle, but I am glad I have help from my parents and inlaws.

You are what you eat. What are you feeding your love ones?

My parents were right,  you are what you eat. Now with children of my own, I try my best to give them the best in terms of a healthy diet. We can cook all the healthy meals we want but the fact is that our agricultural  produce contains residue from pesticides. This may not cause a problem today, but in the long run this might threaten our health and for children below the age of 12 should stay off these residue as much as possible as they are after all in the growing years and this will directly attack the nervous system. Our bodies are literally manufactured out of the food we consume, which is why ‘clean food’ is important.

Lazada Online Revolution - What's my view?

Online shopping and Traditional Shopping, I have being going online for the past 5  to 6 years. Much as I don’t like to feel like a slave to the modern world, I seem to favour online shopping more due to its pros such time saving, competitive pricing, special online discount, tho online shopping does have its cons as well such as not being able to see the product physically, delivery time, shipping fees and of course fraudulence. How do I overcome this since I buy almost everything online from diapers to milk powder to cosmetics and bedsheets? Well, choose a reliable and trustworthy platform. My favourite?

Organic Food [The Real Deal] - Signature Market

I have always like to experiment a little in the kitchen especially when I am too stressed out because making snacks and healthy stuff makes me happy. I remember not too long ago I was into Overnight Oats. We all already know how healthy this breakfast can be, I like mine topped it with a lot of nuts, seeds and dried fruits. I also tried to make my own Almond Milk. I also tried to make teething bars for Little Vegas back then with Rolled Oat, simply because I felt that teething bars that are sold outside is a little too pricey. I try my best to homemade everything for Little Vegas when he was younger, now that he is a 18 months I do it less, but I still find snacks that is lower in sugar or preservatives.

MAYTERLYNN, Sweet Potato and Oat Bran Beverage Mix

Hi you! How has October been treating you? October has been good, except for the incident that Vegas broke the lens of our camera. Lol. Our bad for not putting things back where they belong. We had to get a new lens or else we won’t be able to take pretty pictures, which triggered me to write this post.

Beauty is not only on the outside, it's not just about your looks, or about your size. Beauty is a little of everything. Beauty is a kind of radiance, people who possess a true inner beauty, their eyes are a little brighter, skin a little more dewy. They vibrate at a different frequency says Cameron Diaz. It is true. Yes, the camera can capture what's on the outside but not what's on the inside. Your internal beauty will reflect on your face.

Clear It Now!

I’ve been writing a lot about beauty products lately, so I’m going to take a little detour. Today I want to share about parenting. Being a mother, nothing is more joyful than looking at the children being healthy and happy. The sparkle in their eyes and smile is enough to make me say yes to anything. I’m grateful that my two children are fairly easy to handle, however there are days when they get rather difficult. Yup, when they are not feeling well. I remember when Vegas, my youngest was around 6 months old and he was having flu and phlegm. Hubs and myself had to stay up the whole night because the poor child was having difficulty breathing due to the blocked nose. He finds it difficult to breath and wasn’t able to fall asleep any longer than 30 minutes.

This cartoon is going to change! Four in a team? #PowerpuffGirls

Kiddo Heiley with her new Powerpuff Girls Beanie

Oh-My-God! I receive a  surprisingly cute package in the mail today. A package that leaves me wondering now and until September 18th. Why? The cartoon that I was obsessed with as a child is going to change, How? Why? Omg!! What’s going to happen? What is her name? What colour is her hair going to be? Pink perhaps? Who is going to be her voice? Yes! I am talking about the Powerpuff Girls. Sugar, Spice, Everything nice, and the enigmatic Chemical X - the ingredients needed to make the perfect little girls … or so Professor Utonium led us to believe. 20 years after the launch of Cartoon Network’s most popular original series, there’s a new Powerpuff Girl in town, and she’s got the POWER. I give you a hint, her name starts with the alphabet ‘B’, LOL….

My baby smells like food! Little Innoscents Malaysia

When Heiley was born, I was in the search for baby products for her skin, hair, and everything else as her skin has a fairly rough texture and was pretty sensitive, and is still sensitive now.  I was trying to avoid the chemical and toxins, as baby’s skin is still fragile.  It is know that some substances, when applied to the skin, may be absorbed and enter the bloodstream. Any ‘natural’ products in the market would only require 1% of natural ingredients to be called natural, what happens to the 99%? A mix of chemicals and water to make up to the 99%, that’s how. Eczema and allergies among children are increasing, as research shows that is because of early introduction of ‘toxic toiletries’ being the major factor. It got easier as Heiley grew up but she does have sensitive skin and can only use certain brands of body wash.  Now that Vegas is 15 months old, I have had my share of searching high and low as well. Lol.  I am so sad that I didn’t find out about these earlier, but I am so happy that it’s still not too late.

Goo.N Diapers; Absorbs better.

Keep Calm Vegas is Moving;

Yes he is, more like crawling away….

Oh God, I use to dread bath time but now I dread Nappy Time. I am having such a hard time changing him since he became a professional crawler. Lol. Every time I try to change him he will turn around and crawl away, and I will have to drag him back. This will go on and on until I give him something to chew on (yes, his toothbrush…proves you’ve been following my blog LOL) with this happening the Tape diapers is not helping! I never knew it would be so soon that I would have to give into pants diapers. Bleh!
With just the thought on changing to pants diapers, I received an email on a review of Goo.N Friend Pants Super Jumbo Doraemon Edition and Goo.N Baby Wipes. Lucky Me. Yay! Thank You Lazada... You are still my favorite online shopping partner!

Doreamon makes it even cuter, Vegas does look a little bit like Doreamon don’t you think? Round and Cute. Yay! Lucky me.
I have seen this brand somewhere around, I forgot where…I remembered they had a promotional price going on (Yes, Mummies are fairly price sensitive) but I went ahead and bought what Vegas use - Drypers
The recomended retail price for
Goo.N Friend Pants Super Jumbo Doraemon Edition is RM36 for a pack of 48 pcs, which makes one diaper priced at RM0.75 cents. Definately worth it to me, anything to keep Vegas comfy is worth it!

Baby Vegas Brushes his tooth

Brush! Brush! Brush! Well more like eating it...

If you've been following, you know that Baby V's first tooth has finally made its appearance. At 10month+- that is... I was getting a lil worried, lol...  I want to establish a routine since young for Baby V about brushing his teeth so that I don't have to do it later... like how much trouble I am going thru now to make sure Heiley brushes her teeth...I sometimes forget to remind her and she goes to bed without brushing...arghh!

Babies teeth has actually begin developing while the baby is in the womb, at birth, the baby already has a full set of 20 primary teeth (10 in the upper jaw, 10 in the lower jaw) hidden within the gums. More often than not parents tend to ignore babies teeth thinking is not necessary, I'm guilty as charged with my elder one. It is important to take care of them right from the start.

Couldn't bring her overseas for the time being. Busy Busy! We brought the family to 'Tech Dome, Penang ', so everyone is a student today learning about science and technology!

At home with Vegas: Survival Kit

When I wake up, I may be cute, read and find out what happens after I wake up!
I am a WAHM. I work from home or from the wherever I am at most of the time, sometimes I work from the office which is not too often (those days are what I call 'On Leave' Lol). It may sound very appealing to many that I have this option to work from home, sounds much easier than heading out to the office huh? Make no mistake, it is still work, one way or another. Not having your boss over your shoulder might sound nice, but what about a crying baby when you have a deadline to meet?

The Queen's Day at LEXIS SUITES Penang

This year, everyone needs a break! Thank you baby V! A baby is very tiring! Salute to all the Stay at home mum! You have my utmost respect!

I wanted to give mummy a birthday treat this year, so I discussed with my siblings. Bali, Phuket and the list was endless, in the end we decided on a one night hotel stay for mum & dad. We decided with Lexis Suites Penang, I have a friend working there and thanks to her I managed to get a rather attractive rate. I have stayed at Lexis Port Dickson and Grand Lexis Port Dickson so I figured that this will be almost the same. We kinda decided on this hotel because it is the only resort in the island that boasts the luxury and convenience of a private dip pool and steam room in every unit. Now, here's my take on the place.

Lexis Suites Penang is a five-star resort with 222 luxury suites located in the idyllic seaside of Teluk Kumbar at the Pearl of the Orient. Each unit of Lexis Suites will have its own in-room swimming pool complete with steam room.  Their check-in time is 4pm and check-out 12pm. I arrange for pre check-in at 2pm as I wanted to placed the cake & champagne in the room before  my brother arrived with my mother. I failed! When mum arrived; the room wasn't ready. We only manage to get the room around 3.10pm. Thank You Reception, If I didn't go and ask you would have just waited till 5pm. Arghhh!

The people...and a very frustrated me!

Waiting to check the whole time!  My back hurts...

Our room was on the 14th floor overlooking with a fairly impressive view of Straits of Malacca and partial village view. The suite is spacious, with the necessary amenities and two king-sized beds, for me I still feel that 2 king size bed is not practical, unless you plan to have a party in the hotel with friends, mind you that this is a 5 Star hotel, and this is a suite that I booked.  If I were to stay here for a weekend getaway it would be just me & Mr.Hubs, I don't know maybe the hotel wants each to sleep on one king size bed to experience the comfort. Mum & dad were like, why do we need 2 king size bed? You guys sleeping here tonight? I'm like No, one is for you to dirty, and the other one for you to sleep in. Seriously 2 people staying, need 2 beds meh? If more people staying, I don't need a private pool d lor... I can have a pool party anywhere le...private pool getaway means 2 people alone d their own thing... Honestly la, I rather they have options with 1 king size bed and maybe a cozy living room would be nice. I understand that some might like the idea of 2 king size bed if they are staying with their children, else that space is pretty much a waste!

Baby V sleeping ...

The bathroom comes with a bathtub and a separate shower, which is pretty impressive. This I really like.  Thumbs up for this!

Tub time for kiddo

The bedroom opens directly onto the balcony, The balcony is huge because that's here the Private dip pool and steam room is! Wheee! I like!

Heiley was the first that got changed and jump into the pool, followed by the father. Lol... The pool is a fair size, and pretty comfy balcony. This I like too. So we spent the evening lounging around the pool, even baby V went dipping. Check out his Video HERE

Nice pool enough to accommodate all of us...

Birthday mummy & me taking a dip our private pool!

Once thing about the pool, there were insects, and these I don't know what insects can leave a painful experience....there were quite a few of them in the pool and by the pool! Thank God it didn't bit the children...

Updates (14/9) :-  Kiddo developed some rashes.... I hope its nothing serious. I am a bit worried as I saw an article on Guang Ming today. These insect are Rove more HERE

What is this!??
In the evening we went for dinner at the famous Seafood Restaurant Hai Boey Seafood., as we wanted local food I heard the hotel serves yummy Japanese Dinner.

WhatsApp Image 2016-09-13 at 4.25.17 PM.jpeg
After dinner we went back to check the hotel facilities, which was so disappointing. I dont' even want to go into go check it out yourselves.

Sauna, LEX Spa..roadsigns

Games area, they have scrabble, chess and etc

The pool on Level 8
Overall it is a nice hotel with room to improve. I might go try it out again for a weekend given another chance. All that is said, Thank You Lexis.

From a scale of 10, I would rate my experience as 7/10

Things I like <3
The room, private pool and steam room
The view

Things I dislike
Reception people!
Facilities a bit too boring, not enuf activities
Sky Lite bar, you guys serious?! *cries
Rooms, people need options on rooms...

A Working Mothers thoughts.

"Let's go drinking" ... "Where?" That would be my answer before Vegas. Since his arrival, I was forced to leave behind my life of drinking & late nights partying. I do miss them terribly, but I have got other more important matters to attend to now;my family.  I've had a million and one arguments with the hubs since Vegas. We never once argued before Vegas. I guess we were both too tired and stressed out over the months, we are slowly getting the hang of it...and I'm happy we made it this far.

Dear friends, many of you still thinks that we do not look after Vegas ourselves. Mind you, we do every night and on weekends. When we are working my parents are looking after him, thank you.
Stay at home mums (*bow bow, my respect to you), working mother's (at least we get a breather, a breather comes with a price).. we all face the same challenge.

Being a mother to a 3 month old baby is joy and pain at the same time. I cannot do late nights at work like I used to or work 24/7 or weekends ( I still have Saturday half day, which is really a hassle), but still I am lucky.  Lucky that I've my parents to look after Vegas when I am unavailable. Lucky that Hubs is trying to be a hands on daddy. Lucky that I've a boss that understands. I am blessed and grateful. I have friend that lost their job as their bossed didn't understand or is less human . 😂

Dear bosses, we (mothers) feel bad when we have to leave work early or take a day off work. Many times its not because we want to but we need to, especially when a child is feeling unwell or when caregivers are not available. I would know as Vegas got sick the past week and I had to leave work early every other day so that we could take him to the doctors. hubs has been great help in taking care of the night feeds when told and doing what he can. I want to let him take full charge and I Believe he can, but mummy's Boy is mummy's Boy. *why u torture me son? Bosses we will deliver our jobs just as well as before we became mothers. We just need a little bit of flexibility and understanding. We mothers still strive to be good examples for our children.

Employers out there, have a heart be considerate. Mother's will never use their child as an excuse. Our child is our reason;not our excuse. Employers who are parents would definitely make things better.  😄

Who do you love most, Daddy or Me?

I read several articles throughout the day, most of them revolving around family, babies, relationship and such. I came across several topics that I find rather interesting. One of which; Who Comes First, the Kids or your spouse?

I have been brought up in a family where my father has always put my mother above all things; even us. My siblings and myself we were taught from young; by my father to always put my mother before my father. My mother has never said it verbally to put my father above her but her decision making has always revolves around 'Ask Daddy First', 'What did Daddy say?','If your father say ok, then ok' so yes basically my mother as well put my father above all else. I wouldn't say that my parents are the perfect couple *they do argue, they do hate each other at times but they are my role model of making this Family Thing work. We all have our differences, we are all just normal human beings. It is the love my parents has for each other that has kept the family going strong.
A happy family don't just happen, it takes everyone in the family to make it happen

Now that I have a family of my own, what are my views? What will I be telling my children? Well, let's put it this way, down the road if my children ask me "Who do you love most, Daddy or Me?" I would tell them ''Daddy''.  You see, I believe that if my marriage is perfectly well, my children would be too.  My marriage is the foundation of my family, if that cracks everything else falls apart. I know, I have been there. I have never wrote this in print but yes this is not my first marriage; and neither is it his. We both should know better when it comes to the ugly side, and yes he is a step parent who adores our daughter, sometimes even more than I could ever adore her. I am blessed. We are blessed. Will I be neglecting my children if I put my husband above all, NO my children's basic needs will be met and we [Hubs and myself] will do it together, by keeping Mr. Hubs as priority and keeping communication going on, providing for the children's needs will eventually fall into place.

I firmly believe that my children would be happy children if they were brought up in a happy family. Yes. We all want to give our children a better childhood than our own, and we tend to focus so much on the child's development and future and forget the basics which is A HAPPY HOME. When my children know that their parents are in love with each other they will know that they are loved too!

Happy Wife. Happy Home. *Ladies gotta agree on this, rejoice ladies.
Happy Home. Happy Kids.

After all that being said, my priorities didn't change, it added instead. Yes. That would be my answer.

More than anything else we can do for our children, the example of a happy marriage supports and encourages the possibility of creating such a relationship in their lives. The time to experience the true blessings of a marriage is not after the kids have left home.

We are One Happy Family.
